The Access Application process is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly. Our customers with accessibility needs can visit our dedicated registration portal here to complete a quick and confidential application. During registration, you will provide relevant information to support your request for an Access Card, such as details about your disability, medical condition, and requirements. The Access Team will then evaluate your needs and provide you with the relevant symbols to meet your requirements. Once approved, they will then send you a personalised Access Card, which discreetly communicates your specific requirements to our festival staff.

To ensure an inclusive and seamless experience at Afro Nation Portugal, we encourage customers with accessibility needs to apply for our Access Card scheme before purchasing tickets. Our Accessible Viewing Platform (AVP) is designed with inclusivity in mind, ensuring you can revel in the vibrant beats and infectious energy without missing a moment. Embracing the spirit of unity and celebration, our platform is situated in our General Admission area facing the main stage and is open to Access Card Holders with their +1 Essential Companion.

Ramp access, wheelchair-friendly toilets, and the electrifying vibes are what define our platforms.

Operating on a first-come, first-served basis, our platforms are in high demand, especially when the music reaches its peak. In the event that the platform reaches full capacity, we seamlessly transition to a one-in, one-out policy. This ensures a dynamic flow of energy and guarantees that everyone gets a chance to experience the magic of Afro Nation.

GROUND CONDITIONS / WEATHER

Embrace the natural beauty of Praia da Rocha beach as the backdrop to Afro Nation Portugal 2024. It's important to note that the ground level comprises fine sand, which may pose challenges for wheelchair users. However, to mitigate this, we have implemented accessible pathways leading to the accessible viewing platform, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey to your desired vantage point. Given the beach setting and the uncovered nature of our accessible viewing platforms, please be mindful of sandy conditions and plan your attire accordingly.

Is Afro Nation Wheelchair friendly?

We want to ensure that everyone has a fantastic experience at Afro Nation Portugal. However, we must advise those with mobility issues to consider their comfort and accessibility when choosing their tickets. The festival venue is situated on fine sand, which will pose challenges for mobility. In the spirit of transparency, we recommend our General Admission tier for a more accessible experience. While VIP and Golden tickets come with exclusive perks, navigating the sandy terrain will be challenging.

Is there a specific entrance/exit for disabled customers?

Yes, we have dedicated access for disabled customers to enter Afro Nation. More information will be provided in our access guide closer to the festival.

How do I know where the wheelchair-accessible facilities are?

Our Afro Nation Accessibility Map will highlight all the wheelchair-friendly spots and facilities. This is included in our access guide which will be sent to you via email prior to the festival.

Can I leave and enter the festival?

Access Cardholders and companions can leave and enter the festival during our entry times.

Are there visual alerts and signage throughout the festival for important information?

Yes, we implement visual alerts on our big screen and signage around the festival.

Do you have quiet zones?

Yes, we've got quiet zones available. This area will be outlined in our access guide prior to the festival.

Do you have an accessible viewing platform?

We have an Accessible Viewing Platform in our General Admission area facing the main stage and seating available throughout the festival. If you require access to the Accessible Viewing Platform, please contact us here

Will I have problems walking around if I have mobility challenges?

Our festival is on fine sand throughout the venue. However, we have a trackway in our General Admission area to the Accessible Viewing Platform, seating available in VIP, and we will provide you with short cuts in pre-event communication.

Do you provide Essential Companion tickets?

If your Access card has the +1 symbol, you will be provided with a Essential Companion ticket. Once you have purchased a ticket for yourself, we kindly ask you to provide us with your carers information here. Please do not buy a separate ticket for your carer.

I can’t queue for long periods; how can I access the festival easily?

Not a problem, we have a designated entry point for those with mobility issues. More information will be included in our access guide closer to the festival.

Does the bag policy apply to accessible ticket holders?
